MEC RECOVERING WELL AT HOME



The MEC for the Department of Community Safety and Transport Management, Sello Lehari is recovering well at home following an accident. Last week on Tuesday (April 07, 2020) MEC was traveling to Rustenburg to launch alongside the Premier the distribution of Personal Protective Equipment to the taxi operators and drivers.

The vehicle in which the MEC was travelling was involved in a slight accident. No one was severely injured but for few bruises. The MEC and the protection officers were taken to hospital but were discharged on the same day.

“I’m recuperating well at home and I would want to thank the Premier Prof Job Mokgoro, MEC Gaoage Molapisi for acting on my behalf, colleagues from EXCO and at the Legislature, the Department's senior management, support staff at the Office of the MEC and as well as staff. I would also like to express my thanks to fellow comrades for support. The distribution of PPE is going as planned and for that I’m grateful for the team," said MEC Lehari.

MEC Lehari also expressed gratitude to law enforcement officers for sterling job in maintaining compliance with lockdown regulations.

“I would also like to thank SANSBOC and Taxi Associations for the messages of support."
